Gift acceptance policy
(adopted by the Board of Directors 10/26/2010)
The van Bakeren Foundation accepts the following gifts from donors:
- Cash or equivalent, such as checks, stocks, bonds, and mutual funds
- The van Bakeren Foundation is named as a beneficiary as a percentage or a specific dollar amount in a a) will, b) IRA, c) Life insurance policy, d) Charitable remainder trust, and e) Charitable lead trust
- Assigned ownership of a life insurance policy only if the donor will cover the premiums each year in an annual gift
- We do not accept charitable gift annuities at this time
- All other gifts, such as but not limited to, art, land, equipment, computer hardware, and other material goods may be accepted following appropriate due diligence and board approval
